Target is a word puzzle for at least two players. You need a piece of paper and a pencil per player.
Players draw a square of 3x3 boxes on their paper.
In turn, every player says a letter.
Each player, starting from the left top box, places the letters into the square.
In a common variant the first 6 letters are consonants and the last 3 are vowels. The fifth letter sits in the middle of box and this letter will soon become the target letter.
After all nine letters are said and all boxes filled, the chronometer is set to two minutes and players try to find words by using letters in the square. All letters, however, must include
the target letter.
When the time is up players read out their words.
If any other player has also written a word being read out, he/she immediately says “got it” and all players who have that word cross it out.
Once all players read their words, each player is awarded points equal to the total number of letters of his/her remaining (not crossed-out) words.
